A photo booth is a great addition to any event. It allows your guests to have customized souvenirs that are suitable for any occasion and make your event unforgettable. We have talked about photo booths before, in the Quick Guide: Photo Booth’s blog. If you haven’t read it yet, make sure to take a peek!
You can hire companies to install photo booths but sometimes that may not be in your budget. That doesn’t mean you can’t have one at your next event, it just means you have to get a little creative! Creating your own photo booth can be very simple. There are a variety of ways to make a simple, yet engaging photo booth that is easy on your wallet. All you need is an empty space, an alluring backdrop, and fun props!
Need some ideas for what would be good props to include? Check out these three easy-to-make photo booth decorations.
- Bristol or foam core board
- Scissors/Exacto Knife
Using the ruler, markers, and Exacto knife cut out a square leaving a larger section on the bottom to make it look like a polaroid photo. You can leave it white or if you are feeling artistic paint it to match your brand/event colors or just add a little spark of color.
Using the markers or letters you have ready to go, write out your own caption on it. The caption can be anything from the name of the event, the host throwing the event (usually used for a wedding), or the event hashtag. To learn more about event hashtags, click here
You can even leave it blank if it’s for younger people who are using Snapchat and Instagram and are most likely to write in their own captions.
- Cardstock or thick printer paper
- Jumbo popsicle sticks
Printable photo booth props are the easiest props to make! All you have to do is print out the images on cardstock, cut them out, and then glue sticks or jumbo popsicle sticks to the back.
Printable props can be mustaches, beards, masks, top hats, bow ties, crowns, lips, speech bubbles, quotes, and glasses. But depending on your theme and event style, the possibilities are endless. Just simply search on the internet for “printable props” and find the ones you like best!
You will be able to find specific themes, seasonal, and so much more!
